![Devil wasn’t that bad. It got terrible reviews, and the trailer was booed openly by audience members - but it wasn’t that bad. For those who don’t know, Devil is a horror film written by M. Night Shyamalan, who as of late has had terrible luck in making any films himself. The majority of the film centres around a group of people trapped in an elevator…and one of them is the devil.
I personally am terrified of elevators. I get claustrophobic and my heart starts racing. I also hate horror films. Hate as in “can’t stand them because I’m terrified and don’t like being scared”. These two things together in a film was probably what actually made some of the scenes terrifying to me. Unfortunately the acting was a little wooden and the plot was a bit thin, but I didn’t think it was nearly as terrible as everyone let on. I think going into a film with much lower expectations helps a lot.
