I finally saw Nightmare on Elm Street. I could really see how it would be incredibly terrifying for kids to see this film in 1984, but by today’s standards it is incredibly tame. I am definitely not a horror film guy, I can’t stand them at all. I only ended up jumping two or three times in this film though, so that’s pretty good I think.
The death scenes were very inventive though, I really enjoyed them. Gives me a lot of ideas for camera tricks. Which is another thing! I loved how until the end of the film, the only special effects involved zero computer generated effects. It always depresses me when films rely too heavily on CGI.
