Contagion is not a film for germaphobes. The story revolves around a highly contagious disease affecting the entire world, and the various individuals who are being affected.

The film is very much about the ensemble cast with Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne,  Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet and even Demetri Martin as some of the characters in the film who are dealing with the spread of this deadly disease.

I thought the film was shot very well - the cinematography and shot composition was incredibly well thought out and made the film look and feel realistic (in relation to the pandemic occurring). The story itself was interesting enough - but I don’t think I’d need to see it again. Although the film itself was interesting and the concept was terrifyingly believable, I thought that once you actually find out what happens to the individuals in the film - re-watching would become less interesting.

For a one-time watch, and for a drama-heavy storyline, I still thought the film was good and definitely comes recommended if you’re willing to tough out a bit of a slower unravelling of the story.
