I’ve reviewed the first couple episodes of Season 3 of Misfits - but I wanted to give a somewhat “re-review” now that I’ve completed the third season.
I can officially say that the “magic” that the show once had is gone. Remember when I described the show as being: “similar to the television show Heroes without all the melodrama and complex ideas that ended up tearing viewers away.” Well, forget that, because now it is. It feels like every episode was some weird Degrassi storyline with super powers. It became so overly melodramatic that it became a bit of a struggle to get through.
They also introduced a new character - whom I hated at first but have grown to appreciate. The producers definitely had the intention to replace one obnoxious and crass character with another, and although it worked: it shouldn’t have been a “replacement”.
I’ll be curious to see if the fourth season is any good at all. So many characters have left/been replaced that it feels like a shell of its former self. It’s such a shame because the first two seasons were absolutely incredible.
