I finally got a chance to see the movie that I preordered a while back called Tokyo Zombie. I’ve never heard of it or seen it before until all of a sudden it popped up in stores a couple months ago. I’ve always enjoyed comedic films from Asia but most specifically films by Stephen Chow like Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. I thought I’d give it a chance, because for just over ten bucks, why not. Oh man did this movie suck.
Well…not suck, it just wasn’t that great. No truly memorable moments or anything of that sort. It follows two co-workers who try to fight off the zombie apocalypse. There are some surprises and a couple of times where I commended the writing, but otherwise the movie fell incredibly flat. If you can stream this and are die hard for horror-comedies, then go for it. Otherwise, save your money.
