Meg is a huge zombie freak. She loves any and all forms of media that feature them and goes out of her way to collect a fairly comprehensive collection. Already almost a year ago she found the film “Night of the Creeps” at Best Buy which was being sold for over $25 on DVD and decided we’d wait for the price to drop then finally pick it up. It never happened.
Then a couple weeks ago when we watched the special features on Monster Squad we were told that the director (Fred Dekker) was responsible for Night of the Creeps as well. So naturally we knew we had to pick it up and check it out especially after how much we enjoyed Monster Squad.
Fortunately, because I’m a huge fan of Amazon.ca - we found Night of the Creeps for under $16, which is awesome. We got around to watching it and it was actually not that bad. Sure, it was another cheesy 1980’s horror film, but there are a lot of memorable lines in the film and it was pretty funny. The special features on the Blu-ray are really extensive (same as Monster Squad) and the transfer actually looked really decent.
It’s worth checking out if you enjoy horror films, or (especially at this time of year) you want to watch some really hilarious cheesy film about alien slugs that infest the brains of the dead and make them zombies.
Yes, I’m serious.
